'Thug Life' Box Office Slows Down After Initial Surge

Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life,' directed by Mani Ratnam, experienced a sharp decline in box office collections after an initial strong opening. The film, which reunited Haasan and Ratnam after 38 years, opened with ₹15.5 crore but faced mixed reviews regarding its pacing and screenplay.

Collections dropped significantly after the first day, falling by over 50% to ₹7.15 crore on Day 2. While there was a slight recovery over the weekend, Day 5 saw a substantial decrease to just ₹1.13 crore. The film's five-day total stands at ₹38.03 crore.

'Thug Life' features a star-studded cast, including Silambarasan, Trisha, and Gautham Karthik. The music is scored by AR Rahman, with cinematography by Ravi K Chandran. The film's future success will depend on its ability to attract a wider audience beyond its initial fanbase, particularly outside of Tamil Nadu.
